Every semester, we work with nonprofit organizations whose missions we believe in, building software to help them accomplish their goals. If you think custom technology would improve your organization, we'd love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out to [email protected].
Once we hear from you, we'll reach out to schedule an initial call to learn more about your organization and the problems you're facing. We'll also tell you a bit about Hack4Impact and how we work with nonprofits.
Once we've determined that Hack4Impact is a good fit for your organization, our product managers and tech leads will set up a few more calls to refine the scope of the project so that we can build the best possible product.
Over the course of the semester, developers and designers will work on either creating a new product from scratch or working off an existing codebase to add and refine features, depending on your needs. Our product managers and tech leads will keep in touch so you can stay updated and provide feedback as development progresses.
At the end of the semester, we'll hand off our work to you! For some projects, work may resume in a later semester, so this initial handoff may focus on generating feedback and serving as an initial pilot for future improvement.
Project development occurs over the course of a semester. In some cases, projects may be continued over multiple semesters.
Most of the projects we work on are web applications. Some examples of problems we could tackle include volunteer tracking forms, member directories, and data tracking software. If you aren't sure if your project would be a good fit for us, please feel free to reach out!
We strive to keep expenses as low as possible! While our club is a nonprofit and does not expect compensation for our work, it might cost around $5-$15 / month for hosting expenses. Even if cost could be a barrier, please reach out, and we'll do our best to keep these expenses as low as possible!
We believe in continuous and transparent communication to ensure that your project is something that you will be happy with. This means we will be asking for constant feedback throughout the development cycle, including check-ins and surveys.
