We recruit students as software developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers every semester. Our applications are currently closed, but if you would like to stay updated with our recruitment timeline, please fill out our Interest Form!
Get to know us at the Activities Fair or one of our info sessions near the start of each semester! We'll tell you a little more about what we do at Hack4Impact and outline the application process.
This is your chance to tell us about yourself! We want to hear about your interest in social impact and Hack4Impact, as well as any previous experience you have with web development.
After reviewing applications, we'll invite you to an interview if you seem like a good fit for Hack4Impact. Don't stress - this is informal and just a chance for us to learn more about you!
Nope! Mentorship is a core value of our organization, and the most important characteristics we consider during the application process are a passion for our mission and a commitment to learning.
Most of the projects we take on are web applications and will be completed within one semester. Your project team will consist of a product manager, tech lead, 1-2 designers, and 4-5 developers.
Yes! If you're interested in a combination of software engineering, design, and product management, we encourage you to apply for as many positions as you'd like. However, keep in mind that we may ask you to choose a specific role for a project if necessary.
Time commitment may vary throughout the semester and depending on your project / role, but most students spend around 3 hours a week on project work. Each project team decides its own schedule, but most will choose to meet for about 1 hour each week to plan and delegate tasks.
Since social impact is a big part of our organization's mission, we aim to hold at least two social impact events each semester, such as volunteering out in the community. We also host a variety of other social and career development events, both as a chapter and in collaboration with the national Hack4Impact chapter.
